Cackling Carl
Thought y'all might enjoy some conversations with Carl. Jordan & I are going to be playing for his company's softball team, first practice is tomorrow. It's been 5 years and 2 babies since I've played last, so wish me luck! We've been throwing the ball around in the backyard, I can still throw but my arm is super sore now. I'm looking forward to being able to meet some people and get out of the house. Our friend Kaye is going to come to the games and watch the boys while we play. The plus of being a woman in a co-ed league is there are never enough of us so I always get to play, yay! Just hope I don't embarrass myself... I'll keep you posted.

Spongy Sponges
Tools for our Friday craft
What are these things that I put in this water?
Where's the other part of his face???
So patient, much more so than his mama
It's a hippo!
This is so exciting!
Our $1 menagerie
We interrupt this photo stream for a look at the Cahl cam. I love the blur of motion around his hands and feet, he's a busy boy!
He was making this (gazelle? antelope?) walk across the table and thwanging it's antlers.
Part two of our craft
Paint with the sponges! It didn't work so well...
Jack did have a lot of fun getting paint on the sponges and squishing them. The sponges were a bit too small to make clear prints, very abstract. It's amazing how much fun can be had with a package of animal shaped sponges from the dollar bin. I sure love that area of Target.

Thursday
Tired darling boy
I remember this chair!
No wonder Carl likes hanging out in here
Found some grow capsules in the Target dollar bin. Going to let Jack grow them and then use them in our painting adventures. Could be pretty cool, or it could just be some slightly animal shaped smears. We shall see! I have a coffee can we're going to try and paint, we're going to have to paint a paper and then glue it on. It will be Jack's keepsake can. I'm rounding up different craft ideas to use. Have one using old water bottles, I have some modifications in mind. Anyone have craft ideas that are cheap?

Cahl Can Eat & Food Stamps
What's happening?
This is new...
Whoa, what's this?
Heeey!
Ummm, guys?
I could might get used to this...
Jack plays the accordion. You didn't know that?
Whatcha doing Carl?
Once again, this is sideways. It was correct in my picture folder but loaded like this. Oh well. This is where I found Carl yesterday afternoon. The boy likes to explore!
Today's art project - celery rose stamp. Bet this isn't what popped into your mind when you saw food stamps...
Jack fresh from a nap, what're we gonna do now momma?
What's this?
Stampedystampstamp
Ain't it purty?
Coincidentally, we watched a Sesame Street episode today (after art time) that had a show about painting using different veggies, fruits & flowers. I got some good ideas from it.
Mama may have played with the stamp some too...
Starting painting #2
Oooooh...
You can't have finger paints and not use your fingers some
Well Aunt June, thank you again for all the goodies. We've only just begun to explore all the fun activities that can be done. You can expect a Jack original in the mail before long. :-) Enjoy the video!
